Programmes

Hila’s programmes are thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole girl. We have four areas that we feel are essential and we have a structured focus on them. There is also opportunty to bring in other aspects into our days for example, trips and chesed opportunities. Each area supports a different facet of her growth, creating a balanced and meaningful learning experience.

Kodesh

At Hila we hold Torah learning in the highest esteem. This is our foundation, our gift and our way to connect to Hashems Wisdom. We make sure to daaven and learn Kodesh, our holiest subjects at the optimal time so that our minds and bodies are as open as possible to absorb Torah.

Our Kodesh learning is a mix between individual, chavrusas or group learning, yet each girl is on her unique journey with unique learning goals, tailored to grow her and challenge her accordingly.  We strongly believe in project based learning.

* This programme is delivered through Rabbi Yossi Orkin’s LMS system, a new and innovative aspect of World Within a Word.

 

An online LMS extends learning beyond the classroom, enabling independent practice, consistent instruction, and progress tracking, while ensuring continuity and sustained engagement.

Self Growth

Emotional growth at Hila is a core part of our programme. In a guided, safe, and respectful environment, girls are supported in developing self-awareness, emotional literacy, and inner resilience—skills that are essential for learning, relationships, and life.

Through facilitated discussions, reflective practices, and experiential work, students explore practical tools for navigating real-life situations, including:

 

  • Recognising and expressing emotions in healthy ways

  • Disagreeing with respect and confidence

  • Conflict resolution and repair

  • Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries

  • Communication and listening skills

  • Developing self regulation and resilience

 

At Hila we believe that every person holds their own inner wisdom. Our role is to create the space and guidance that helps each girl access it. Our aim is for every student to feel grounded, understood, and empowered—so she can engage with learning and the world around her with clarity, strength, and joy.

Movement

Daily body movement plays a key role in wellbeing and healthy brain function. Scientific research shows that physical activity releases endorphins, reduces stress hormones, and supports emotional regulation, focus, and resilience. At Hila, movement is intentionally built into the day to support both learning and overall wellbeing.

General Studies

Hila facilitates flexible correspondence learning options such as UNHS, Cambridge, and Penn Foster. Students work at their own pace in a shared, supportive learning space, with tutors brought in as needed. This approach allows for personalized progress, reduced academic pressure, and meaningful learning. These can be used to enter universities in South Africa with the additional benefit of entering universities abroad more seamlessly than traditional South African matric.
