Founder, Director and Teacher
Chaya Michels
Chaya is a wife and mother with over a decade of experience in the teaching space. She has taught Limudei Kodesh in Torah schools in Johannesburg and in a corporate setting in Israel. Her educational journey includes earning a BA through project-based learning. Together, her years of teaching and study have shaped her belief that learning should be personal, intentional, and connected to the whole person. Through her work at Hila, Chaya is committed to creating calm, structured environments where teen girls feel supported, capable, and able to grow with confidence, purpose, and joy.

Shira Spitalnik
Shira Spitalnik is a mother of five, a dedicated home educator, and a passionate life coach. She heads up our Self Growth area of learning as well as guides many aspects of Hila from her wealth of knowledge and experience. Shira teaches with a focus on values, growth, and leadership development, drawing on tools such as psychodrama, expressive movement, and the creative arts.
Guided by years of learning from exceptional mentors, Shira believes that healthy family relationships are life’s strongest foundation. She has experience supporting parents in creating emotionally attuned homes and empowering families with practical skills that build identity, connection, and resilience.

Tammy Asaraf
Tammy is a wife and mother with a deep love for Torah, teaching, and personal growth. As a Rebbetzin and experienced Jewish educator, she brings warmth, clarity, and authenticity into her teaching. Tammy is passionate about helping girls feel seen and valued, guiding them to develop confidence, self-awareness, and a strong, joyful connection to their Yiddishkeit and to themselves
